A pump with collar comes with a metal ring that covers the crimped area where the spray mechanism grips the bottle. Usually made of aluminium, this collar hides the raw ferrule for a more finished look and helps the pump seat firmly on the neck. The working principle is the same: pressure on the actuator opens the valve, and the fragrance is delivered as a mist through the dip tube.
