Screw Neck Bottles

Screw Neck bottles are perfume bottles with a threaded opening, onto which the cap or pump is fixed by twisting rather than crimping. Unlike collared systems that are clamped on with a crimp, the threaded neck lets the pump screw directly onto the bottle, which is an advantage for refillable products and for a more secure closure.

A screw thread improves the seal and prevents the closure from loosening during transport. This construction requires both the glass bottle and the metal or plastic pump to be produced to standard thread dimensions, so that components from different suppliers remain compatible.
